Epitalon (AEDG tetrapeptide) is a synthetic 4-amino acid peptide originally designed in the 1980s by Khavinson and colleagues at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, based on the amino acid composition of the bovine pineal extract Epithalamin. In 2017 the peptide was detected as a naturally occurring compound in physiological pineal extract. Supplied as a lyophilized powder for in vitro research, intended strictly for qualified researchers, Epitalon has accumulated four decades of peer-reviewed literature on telomerase biology, chromatin-binding, pineal AANAT signaling, antioxidant enzyme regulation, and macrophage cytokine pathways.
